Robert D Anderson and Me

Generally Mrs Anderson has not provided many photographs that would fit tot the festival, Nevertheless, his work is suitable and has inspired me to provide 2 different and opposed themes however taken as he did. By long exposure of the camera's shutter speed. 

At first i wanted to capture Manchester at night and hence i was searching for places that i could capture the traffic of the cars. I intended to show the movement of the car lights over the time.

 At first i went to the bridge near Parkway Gate. At the road under the bridge there are many cars and hence it was a suitable place of capturing the moving lights.  After capturing a series of photos i choose the best that were showing the moving lights. 

This image has f/6.3 Exposure time 6 sec and ISO-100. Prior choosing the above image i captured numerous images however this is the most suitable for the festival. For concluding to this i took in mind the fact that i wanted to show the lights as well as the city. Everything in the image is stable however the cars ar keep moving and hence it can be said that their is a movement in the stable building and treas over time in Manchester.

For my next selected image i was looking for the same elements. To show the movement of the car lights in the city o Manchester. Accordingly, in the day i was wandering around trying to find a good spot that would show a road with traffic at night. Hence, i found a road opposite a building that gad a nice view and a road that had traffic at night. I set my tripod and and waited for the right moment. Hence i capture the following image that would be suitable for the exhibition. 

This image was taken from the balcony of an apartment. I used f/6.3 with exposure time 8 sec and ISO-100.

The following day i intended to do the same thing in a different place and hence i went to a friend apartment at W3. Once again i set my tripode and captured numerous images. Nevertheless i had to wait until 12 o clock in the night so that the lights of the buildings to go off. In response tot he festival i chose this image.

For this image i used f/6.3, exposure 10 sec and ISO-100.

At this point of my work, i got the idea of showing the movement withing an image in an opposite environment. Mrs Anderson had provided work from a busy city at night And so i did. Nevertheless Mrs. Anderson is an inspiration of capturing the exact opposite. Hence that would be a day photograph in the nature, in a peaceful environment.  

The movement can be shown by water and hence the image would again fit the subject of the exhibition. 

On the other hand even if not inspired by Anderson he gave me the idea of providing three images of a night at a busy road that would have an opposite image of a peaceful environment in day, out of the city. 

The movement in time as a subject can be seen by different ways.

1.  First the movement of water and the movement of lights. 
2. The movement from nature to city
3. The movement from night to day
4. The difference between two places at the same time. 
5. The natural movement and the human made movement.

Therefore, as a part of my exhibited work i have chosen the following images.

The above three images were shot by me at summer. They fit well to the exhibition and they reflect to my intention of showing the differences that i mentioned above. Additionally, it is an opportunity to show to a wider range of people my work in landscapes. 

By providing those six photographs i satisfy my inspiration from Robert d Anderson, the subject of the festival and my individual contribution to the festival as practitioner and participant, by showing a wider form of my work interpreted with the subject matter.
